Everyday you hear news of how it is becoming more and more difficult to enter the States. This trend is showing no signs of relief, thanks to the Trump govt. Not just this, the H-1B rejection rates for Indian companies are in serious trouble too.

Study reports have shown that the

denial rate of H-1B visas have touched 24% in the third quarter of

the current fiscal year, from 6% in FY2015. The denial

rates for H-1B petitions have increased significantly.

There is concern across the global IT industry operating in

the US over approval rates for H-1B petitions, higher rate of rejection among

IT service-focused companies and cost implications of higher scrutiny and

additional requests for evidence.

Indians Getting PR in Canada Increases by 105%

Disenchanted by the restrictive visa policies in the US, the number of Indians getting permanent residency in Canada increased by 105% in the first 11 months of 2019 alone, as depicted by the Virginia-based National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) report.

The number of

Indians getting permanent residencies in Canada increased from 39,340 in

2016 to 80,685 in 2019. This implies that the full year Canadian

statistics could show over 85,000 Indians getting PR in 2019.

Canada gives

smoother immigration transition possibilities along with the same cosmopolitan

life as in the big cities across the US, which certainly helps. Besides,

some Indians wary about racism and gun culture in America also feel relieved to

look at Canada.

Software workers are now opting to work in Canada and showing their preference for the country, despite them having an option to stay in the US, said a report. Besides, tech companies and many IT conglomerates are also opening more offices in Canada, facilitating easier transition for those stuck in visa backlogs.

Why Are More and More Indians Opting for Canada?

The Canadian government had set a

target to invite 3,30,000 new PRs in 2019, as per its Global Skills Strategy

programme adopted in 2017. This programme offers a hassle-free and quick route

to work in the country and proves to be beneficial for Indians having a STEM

background and looking forward to emerging job opportunities.

Reportedly, India has had the largest

invite for permanent residency under the Express Entry Route. As the numbers

speak, we have an estimate of 36,310 invites, out of a total 86,022 in 2017,

only to Indians, which climbs up by 13% in 2018.

About 63% companies are increasing

their presence in Canada, with about 21% companies having already established

at least one branch in Canada. Canada plans to add over one million new

permanent residents over a three-year period.

With the entry procedure and chances getting more and more stringent with every rule implied by the Trump government, the number of Indians navigating towards Canada and Europe for higher studies and job opportunities is showing a direct increase.
