Modern day internet has made blogging as easy and pleasurable as a breeze on a beautiful spring day. There are tons of online platforms that can be used for free or in exchange for a minimal cost for the purpose of hosting your blogging activities. WordPress is one of these very popular platforms.

Blogging Platform

WordPress is home to thousands of bloggers. Many make a livelihood sharing their experiences and wisdom with huge audiences for free or for next to nothing.

Bloggers do not have to worry about the technical or the development side of things as they are only utilising the service as a third-party customer and purveying their own product through said service. This situation works all too well for the likes of home cooks wanting to share their recipes or travel bloggers. However, for someone who is looking to use their blog as a link or the front page for their business, it is important that they put time, thought, consideration, and some degree of investment into their blog. That is why it is important for you, as a professional business, to consider the possibility of hosting your WordPress blog on your very own domain.

Establish Your Own Domain

Developing a strong and impacting impression on people is extremely essential when it comes to developing leads. This becomes particularly important when talking about your social media marketing strategy as there are millions of pages and loads of content for the average individual to browse through and if you do not stand out in a crowd, it will only take them a few seconds to move on.

Having a good domain name is a huge part of establishing a reputation and holding the viewer’s attention long enough to increase the chances of them interacting with you and your brand.

When hosting a blog on third party service sites, your domain name gets sandwiched by the name of the platform. This makes your brand seem under established and amateur. By opting to purchase your own domain, you can customise it however you want and make it personal to your brand and business only. Plus, you can still install WordPress through your independent host, so long as they offer WordPress Hosting.

Own Your Work

When using a free platform to host your blogs or any other form of work, it never really seems personal. The reason for that is, the name of the platform is somehow attached to your work, even if it is just in the URL. So, despite the work having been credited to you, you are not the sole owner of the content. As such, if the platform were to close down, remodel, or shift, you could, potentially, lose all of the hard work you have put into developing your audience or Google rankings. If you own your own domain, this problem will never arise and your audience or rankings will never suffer from the actions of a third-party.

Budget and Host

One of the aspects of hosting one’s own blog on premium hosting platforms like Hosting.co.uk with their own domain, is the fear that it would be really expensive. Well, let us tell you that it is a myth – owning and operating through your own domain does not have to be super expensive and you can obtain quite a few functions and features without having to pay more than £10 to £15 per month. There are lots of different trustworthy services that you can obtain a site through at an extremely cost-effective deal. This could let you double-up on rewards as compared to if you were to continue hosting your blog on a free platform (that you don’t really own).

Make It Easy

If you are worried that you do not have enough technical skills to be able to perform this shift to your own domain or do not have the budget to be able to hire someone skilled enough to do it for you, here is some good news: it is not all that difficult! With a little bit of help and guidance, you can very easily do it all on your own. Purchasing a domain is as easy a task as any. All you have to do is look for a hosting company, eye a good deal, and purchase your domain name. You can use the likes of Hosting.co.uk for this purpose amongst the plethora of other reputable site sources. You can either select a regular hosting plan that lets you add the WordPress application or choose WordPress Hosting directly from the provider. Then, you simply need to install WordPress and you will be able to host the blog on your own domain.

Create your community

One of the best parts about having your own domain name to associate with your blog, without any distractions in the middle, is that you can create your very own professional and social community surrounding your business or brand in the truest sense. WordPress has its own community that may be different from what you wish your target audience to be. In some cases, it may not be able to access or appeal to the part of the population that you want to target your product to.

Having your blog on your own website, solely dedicated to your brand name, creates a strong and lasting impression. It tends to drive more viewers, readers, and ultimately customers to your purpose. Of course, with a reliable web hosting or WordPress Hosting solution, you can simply integrate your website’s blog to WordPress like we mentioned earlier.

Simple, Inexpensive, and Rewarding

You may be quite happy with how your blog is going right now hosted on a free platform. Now pause and think long-term. Do not wait for an inevitable problem to arise to make the shift that is not only simple and inexpensive, but also incredibly rewarding. Making a change as simple as getting your own domain for your WordPress blog, helps you to establish a better rapport and reputation. And this, can be the difference between an amateur entrepreneur and an established professional.

World’s fourth largest train network. World’s ninth largest employer.

About 1.6 million employees. Almost 70,000 kilometres of route.

This is Indian Railways for you.

And now it is gearing up fast to link-up with emerging technologies as artificial intelligence.

For the forthcoming Ardh Kumbh at Allahabad (Prayagraj) which starts from 15th January 2019 and will conclude on 4th March 2019, Indian Railways is going to utilise artificial intelligence, for crowd control and safety.

More than 100 million devotees are expected to attend this world’s largest religious congregation.

With a vast network of CCTV cameras, combined with IBM’s video analytics service, Indian Railways plans to watch the crowd and their safe movement across all the major stations around the venue (via).

The information gathered through video camera and analysed by IBM’s AI solution would then disseminate through a mobile app and will also display on LCD screens across stations.

Already pro-active on social media, IR will use it for keeping the pilgrims updated on a real-time basis.

More than 5,000 Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel will be deployed to manage the crowd movement at 10 stations in and around the city, including Allahabad, Prayag, Jhunsi, Naini, Cheoki and Allahabad City.

Google’s reCaptcha API protects your website / app from malicious traffic. You might have seen the reCaptcha integrated on web pages. You can integrating the same in your Android apps too using SafetyNet API. The service is free to use and it will show a Captcha to be solved if the engine suspects user interaction to be a bot instead of human.

In this article, we’ll build a simple feedback form and integrate the captcha to avoid the form submission by bots. Not just the forms, you can integrate the captcha in any module in your app.

[embedded content]

1. How it Works?

The reCAPTCHA will be validated by making certain network calls between your app, SafetyNet server and your server.

  • First, you need to obtain the SafetyNet key pair by registering your app. You will get Site Key and Secret.
  • Site Key will be integrated in android app and it can be public. Secret should kept on your server and it shouldn’t be exposed.
  • When reCaptcha is invoked, it will show the Captcha challenge to user if necessary. In this step it communicates with captcha server and returns User Response Token using Site key.
  • Once the User Response Token is received, it is still needs to be validated on the server using Secret key.
  • From the mobile app, the User Response Token will be sent to your server. From server, the token will be sent to SafetyNet server along with Secret. Once the SafetyNet server validates the token, it notifies your server with success status.
  • Finally, your server notifies the mobile app with the status of captcha i.e success or fail.

2. Obtaining SafetyNet Site Key and Secret

Follow the below steps to obtain your Site Key and Secret.

  1. Goto reCaptcha Signup page and register your app.
  2. Enter label to identify the key. You can give your app name or screen name.
  3. Select the type of reCaptcha. I prefer selecting reCaptcha Android.
  4. Enter your app package name. You can enter multiple app package names for the same key.
  5. Accept the Terms of Service and click on Register. Once registered, you can notice Site Key and Secret displayed on the screen along with sample code.

3. Creating New Project

1. Create a new project in Android Studio from File ⇒ New Project and select Basic Activity from templates. While creating, use the package name you have registered on reCAPTCHA dashboard.

2. Add safetynet dependency to your build.gradle and rebuild the project. I am also adding Volley and ButterKnife dependencies. Volley is used to send HTTP call to our server to validate the captcha token on the server side.

dependencies {
 implementation fileTree(dir: 'libs', include: ['*.jar'])
 implementation 'com.android.support:appcompat-v7:26.1.0'

 // SafetyNet reCAPTCHA
 implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-safetynet:11.8.0'

 // ButterKnife
 implementation 'com.jakewharton:butterknife:8.8.1'
 annotationProcessor 'com.jakewharton:butterknife-compiler:8.8.1'

 // Volley
 implementation 'com.android.volley:volley:1.1.0'
}

3. Add the below resources to respective colors.xml, strings.xml and dimens.xml.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<resources>
 <color name="colorPrimary">#00bbd3</color>
 <color name="colorPrimaryDark">#0097a7</color>

 <string name="desc_form">Have a suggestion? Fill out the form below and we’ll take a look!</string>
 <string name="message_feedback_done">Thanks for your feedback. We\'ll get back to you soon!</string>
</resources>
<resources>
 <dimen name="activity_margin">16dp</dimen>
</resources>

4. Open the layout file of your main activity (activity_main.xml and content_main.xml) and add the below sample feedback form.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"

5. Create a new class named MyApplication.java and extend the class from Application. In this class, Volley singleton instances are created.

import android.app.Application;
import android.text.TextUtils;

import com.android.volley.Request;
import com.android.volley.RequestQueue;
import com.android.volley.toolbox.Volley;

/**
 * Created by ravi on 13/03/18.
 */

public class MyApplication extends Application {

 public static final String TAG = MyApplication.class
 .getSimpleName();

 private RequestQueue mRequestQueue;

 private static MyApplication mInstance;

 @Override
 public void onCreate() {
 super.onCreate();
 mInstance = this;
 }

 public static synchronized MyApplication getInstance() {
 return mInstance;
 }

 public RequestQueue getRequestQueue() {
 if (mRequestQueue == null) {
 mRequestQueue = Volley.newRequestQueue(getApplicationContext());
 }

 return mRequestQueue;
 }

 public <T> void addToRequestQueue(Request<T> req, String tag) {
 // set the default tag if tag is empty
 req.setTag(TextUtils.isEmpty(tag) ? TAG : tag);
 getRequestQueue().add(req);
 }

 public <T> void addToRequestQueue(Request<T> req) {
 req.setTag(TAG);
 getRequestQueue().add(req);
 }

 public void cancelPendingRequests(Object tag) {
 if (mRequestQueue != null) {
 mRequestQueue.cancelAll(tag);
 }
 }
}

6. Open AndroidManifest.xml and add MyApplication to <application> tag. We also need to add INTERNET permission.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
 package="info.androidhive.recaptcha">

 <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" />

 <application
 android:name=".MyApplication">
 </application>

</manifest>

7. Finally open MainActivity.java and do the modifications as shown below.

  • Replace SAFETY_NET_API_SITE_KEY value with your own SafetyNet Site key
  • Replace URL_VERIFY_ON_SERVER value with your own server URL. This url validates the captcha key for info.androidhive.recaptcha only as it contains the Secret for that package.
  • https://api.androidhive.info/google-recaptcha-verfication.php is the url of my server, works for this app only. You will see the code of this endpoint shortly.
  • validateCaptcha() shows the Captcha dialog and fetches the User Response Token that needs to be sent to your server for validation.
  • verifyTokenOnServer() method sends the received User Response Token to server for validating it using the Secret. The server makes POST request to https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/siteverify and validates the token.
  • Once the token is validated on the server, your server responses a JSON with success status. You need to take further action depending on success status. In this case, the feedback has to be submitted.

 return params;
 }
 };

 }
}

Run and test the app once. If the app is not working, make sure you are using proper package name, key pair and server endpoint.

4. Validating Captcha Token on Server using PHP

Below is the PHP code to validate the captcha token on the server. You can use your own Secret Key and host the code on your server to make it work for your app.

<?php
$ch = curl_init();

// TODO - Define your SafetyNet Secret in the below line
$secretKey = 'Place your SafetyNet Secret here';
$captcha = isset($_POST['recaptcha-response']) && !empty($_POST['recaptcha-response']) ? $_POST['recaptcha-response']: '';

curl_setopt_array($ch, [
 CURLOPT_URL => 'https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/siteverify',
 CURLOPT_POST => true,
 CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS => [
 'secret' => $secretKey,
 'response' => $captcha,
 'remoteip' => $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']
 ],
 CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER => true
]);

$output = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);

$json = json_decode($output);
$res = array();

if($json->success){
 $res['success'] = true;
 $res['message'] = 'Captcha verified successfully!';
}else{
 $res['success'] = false;
 $res['message'] = 'Failed to verify captcha!';
}

echo json_encode($res);
?>

The Galaxy M arrangement phones are estimated to include LCD presentations to keep the general costs low. A recent report had claimed that Samsung is working on two new smartphones with model numbers SM-M205F and SM-M305F. These phones are expected to belong to the new Galaxy M series of smartphones. The SM-M205F handset may release in the market with the Galaxy M2 and it is powered by Samsung s Exynos 7885 chipset. It is the same 14nm SoC that powers some other Samsung phones such as the Galaxy A7 , Galaxy A8 , and Galaxy A8 Plus .The listing also reveals that the SoC will be paired with 3GB of RAM, and the device will running Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. We get to know from some sources that Samsung is taking a shot at two new cell phones with model numbers SM-M205F and SM-M305F.Specs

The SM-M305, however, may debut as Galaxy M3. It could be an upper mid-range phone since it is expected to arrive in 64GB and 128GB storage choices. These storage variants may respectively feature 4GB and 6GB of RAM.ThereThe SM-M205F Galaxy M2 is incorporated with 32GB and 64GB capacity alternatives. Presumably, these variations may incorporate 3GB and 4GB of RAM individually.

There is no news on the launch or dispatch of the Galaxy M2 and Galaxy M3. Samsung is required to discharge the Galaxy M phones in the asia so it is beneficial for the company to keep the phones in low budget without removing any features from the phones as there is a tough competition in the low-budget phones.

Non-profit group Telecom Watchdog on Thursday questioned new minimum monthly recharge plans of Airtel and Vodafone Idea and charged the operators of indulging in “anti-consumer activities”, but the firms asserted that the plans are fully compliant with rules. In a letter to Trai, Telecom Watchdog flagged concerns over the manner in which the two companies had allegedly fixed similar tariffs at the same time. It claimed that forcing users to cough-up a minimum monthly amount was like demanding a monthly rent “which is not the practice for prepaid users”.

airtel-vodafone-idea-telecom-watchdog

“We wish to bring to your kind notice an alarming situation under which two telecom operators – Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea – have once again resorted to anti-consumer activities. In total disregard to the regulatory principles, they have now unilaterally decided to terminate the services of subscribers within 15 days of the expiry of validity period of the `special tariff plan’,” Telecom Watchdog said in a letter to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai).

“All tariff plans of Bharti Airtel are in compliance with the applicable regulations. The matter raised by the Trai, relating to the communication of the tariff plans to the consumers, has already been addressed,” an Airtel spokesperson said in an email response to PTI.

The spokesperson added the company did not wish to respond to “frivolous allegations”. A Vodafone Idea spokesperson, too, categorically denied what it termed were levelling of “baseless allegations”.

“Catering to the changing needs of consumers, Vodafone Idea has radically simplified its prepaid plans to enhance customer convenience. These plans are fully compliant to all applicable regulations and guidelines. We have rolled them out nationally and are actively communicating with customers, informing them of changes and helping them avail these new plans,” the Vodafone Idea spokesperson said.

Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have been looking to boost their revenue realisation per user and recently announced minimum monthly recharge plans starting from Rs 35.

In the US, roughly 800 bicyclists are killed in collisions with motor vehicles every year. Sharing the road with fast-moving hunks of metal on wheels is an often daunting and dangerous task for people who commute with a bike. A number of factors attribute to the risk bicyclists face on the road, but some major ones are lack of bike lanes, distracted drivers, and both riders and drivers being under the influence of alcohol. In order to address these issues, many organizations and companies have launched campaigns aimed at “sharing the road” between cars and bikes. In recent years we’ve seen car companies vastly improve the safety features of their vehicles, but this leaves nothing of value for the bicyclist. Fortunately, the rise of technology has caught up with the biking world, where new gadgets and downloadable content make biking and driving on the roads safer and easier.

GPS Technology for Your Bike

A lot can go wrong when riding your bike on the road. It’s not entirely uncommon for bikers to go missing when riding on remote roads, or for hit and run accidents to occur, which usually leave the rider injured and unable to call for help. Today, bicyclists have the option to protect themselves with GPS technology that tracks their location, and notifies loved ones when you start your ride and finish it. This life-saving tech can be purchased as a device, or simply through an app on your smartphone.

Camera Technology

Whether you’re cycling or driving a car, it’s important to be protected legally and financially. Car dashboards and bike helmets can be equipped with cameras that come in handy when reporting an accident. Not to mention that it provides valuable answers to what went wrong in the moments leading up to the accident, allowing riders and drivers alike to learn from their mistakes (if they’re lucky) and navigate more safely in the future. When paired with a GPS device, authorities can use the evidence to piece together an accurate depiction of how an accident occurred, and who is at fault.

As they years go on and technology continues to improve, so will the safety features of bicycles and cars on the road. And while bikers can do little to change the infrastructure of the road, they can make sure they’re prepared for accidents to happen. Using GPS tracking and camera technology together is the best way current riders/drivers can look after themselves on America’s roads.

Formula One racing is the most egotistical sport. Defined by strong individuals. It becomes difficult to take decisions, unless the ‘petrolheads’ are convinced.

Renault has partnered with Microsoft since 2012. The company provides the racing team with crucial software and cloud computing services. It has also started the ‘data science department’ and is the first team in sports to establish such a faculty.

At Renault’s UK factory, over 60 terabytes of data are generated each week by a group of supercomputers used to simulate races.

According to the team, it produces 1.5 billion race strategy simulations per season, and over 90,000 simulated outcomes per lap each weekend. “You have to make the most of the data, making sure you have proper modelling and simulation, optimisation and capacity (via).

It would help in changing the strategy and winning, but the new data-science department at Renault would also bring a lot of credibility to ‘data’ itself.

Unlike Xiaomi and Realme, Taiwanese brand Asus confirmed that it would not hike prices of its smartphones, despite the ongoing rupee-dollar race. Just like some other companies, Asus is also operating at very low-profit margins, especially this year to gain some market share. But that doesn’t effectively mean that Asus will hike the prices of its smartphones. The company has sent out a press statement stating that it will not hike prices of any of its smartphones. This essentially means that the Zenfone Max Pro M1 will still retail at the same starting price of Rs 10,999. The Zenfone 5Z, Zenfone Max M1 and Zenfone Lite L1 prices will remain the same too.

Furthermore, Asus may not discontinue the Max Pro M1 like Xiaomi which discontinues an older model once a new model comes out.

To recall, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, dual rear cameras, single selfie camera, stock Android 8.1 Oreo and a massive 5000mAh battery. If you are using computer regularly, you might have flushed the DNS cache many times as most of the guys or support engineers tell you to clear it when you have some issues on your computer such as some sites are not opening, internet connection is not working, slow loading of sites, slow processing speed, etc . When you flush DNS Cache, such issues on your computer get fixed automatically. Moreover, not all the time it works because if the issue is caused by some other reason, flushing DNS cache won’t help.

Let’s talk about DNS Cache, and how can we flush it out in more detail.

What is DNS Cache?

A DNS cache is a temporary database on your computer which is managed and operated by the OS. This database has records of all the recent website visits and attempted visits to websites. The record generally contains the Domain names along with their corresponding IP addresses.

Internet completely relies on Domain Name System, i.e., DNS to maintain an index of all the websites on the internet and their corresponding IP addresses. It’s like your personal phone book in which you write names and their corresponding phone numbers.

Every website has an IP address on the internet but remembering those numbers is almost impossible for us, that is where DNS comes into use. It keeps alphanumeric names to the IP addresses which are easy to remember.

When you type www.techtricksworld.com in your browser’s address bar and hit enter. Then the browser asks the router for the IP address of that site. The router has the DNS address stored, so it asks DNS server for the IP address.  Once it finds the IP address of the site you have requested to open, you get the site opened in your browser.

Every time you request for a website in your web browser, the same process repeats. The site cannot open until its IP address is located by the DNS server.

This process does take a few moments. To speed up this process DNS cache comes into use as it keeps the records for all the websites you have opened on your computer. It stores records as the website name and its IP address along with some other details. So, when you open the same site again, your computer checks the DNS cache first before sending the request to the internet for finding the IP address of the website. Since there are copies in the DNS cache; you notice the site loads quickly.

In simple word, when DNS Cache is active, you see the websites you have recently opened, are opening more quickly when you load it next time.

You must be thinking that DNS cache is so useful then why people flush DNS cache all the time?

It is because as you browse every day, the DNS cache is piled up and covers a lot of storage space on your computer. Also, many times DNS cache gets corrupted. Due to these, you face multiple issues on your computer. That is why flushing the corrupted DNS cache help fixing various problems of your computer system including saving a lot of storage space.

Even if Realme U1 is a selfie phone, I don’t see any compromise on other things. The phone is good looking, offers a brilliant display and a nice camera. I have not tested it for battery and performance but I am hoping good.
