CnEVPost previously reported that the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV sold a whopping 36,762 units in January, making it the world’s top monthly electric vehicle seller and also the No. 1 monthly seller in China for five consecutive months.

It has also sold more than 200,000 units after 200 days on the market.

January-February is traditionally a slow period for the Chinese auto industry.

Previously released data from car companies including NIO, XPeng Motors, Li Auto, and BYD showed that their February sales were down significantly compared to January.

This is mainly because the Chinese auto market is traditionally slow from January to February, and the Chinese New Year holiday during this period can also cause large fluctuations in deliveries.

Last year, the Chinese New Year holiday ran from Jan. 24 to Jan. 31, and this year it runs from Feb. 11 to Feb. 17.

SGMW said it sold 115,078 vehicles in February, up 322 percent year-over-year and up for the 11th consecutive month.

Of the total, Wuling sold 85,621 units and Baojun sold 22,613 units.

The Wuling Victory MPV sold 4,629 units in February, including more than 500 units delivered in one day.

The Wuling Journey Pick-up opened for pre-sale on February 22, with over 6,700 orders in seven days.

The New Baojun brand sold 8,514 units in February, including 3,550 units of the Baojun RS-3.

SGMW exported 6,844 units/set to overseas in February, up 54% year-on-year. The Mexican market sold 1,006 units in February, up 101% from January.
