Chinese tech giant Huawei continued to lead the Chinese wearables market with a 22.3 percent share in the fourth quarter, leaving behind Xiaomi and Apple.

Huawei shipped 6.761 million wearable devices in the fourth quarter, up 9.4 percent year-on-year, according to a report released by IDC on Friday.

Huawei’s Freebuds Pro, the world’s first intelligent dynamic noise cancellation TWS headphones, was released last September and is priced from RMB 1,099 yuan ($168.92).

Xiaomi came in second with a 19.5 percent market share, with its shipments of 5.904 million units in the fourth quarter, down 11.2 percent year-on-year, the report said, adding that Xiaomi’s Air 2 series of Bluetooth headphones and the new Redmi Watch helped it maintain its second-place position.

Apple took third place on the list with a 19.2 percent market share, shipping 5.803 million units, up 17.9 percent year-on-year, the report said, adding that growth in shipments of the Apple Watch S6 and SE helped Apple close the gap with Xiaomi.

Chinese cell phone manufacturers OPPO and BBK were in fourth and fifth place with shipments of 1.388 million units and 1.128 million units, respectively.

It is worth mentioning that BBK’s Little Genius children’s watch remained at the top of the children’s watch market.

The report also showed that China’s wearable device market shipped 30.26 million units in the quarter, up 7.7% year-on-year.

Shipments of basic wearable devices (wearable devices that do not support third-party applications) were 25.18 million units, up 10.3% year-on-year, while shipments of smart wearable devices were 5.08 million units, down 3.6% year-on-year.
